Where the orange comes from

Well water in our part of Florida carries dissolved iron. Every irrigation cycle mists it across the concrete; the water evaporates, the iron oxidizes, and a microscopic layer of rust bonds into the surface. A few hundred cycles later, the stain is vivid, and it is not sitting on the concrete — it is part of the surface chemistry.

Why nothing you have tried worked

• Pressure washing cleans the concrete around the stain and makes the orange stand out more. The rust is bonded mineral, not grime.
• Bleach does nothing to iron oxide — it is an organic stain remover.
• Acid from the hardware store can work chemically but frequently over-etches, leaving a clean-but-scarred blotch that reads as a different kind of stain.

Rust removal is a chemistry job: a purpose-made remover, applied by hand at the right concentration, given dwell time, then neutralized and rinsed. What to expect honestly
